Older Students/ World Studies Curriculum
and a Cyber Tour

Here are additional discussion topics to build upon the 1WOW assembly material: What issues do they believe require international agreement to settle on behalf of all people? i.e. hunger, environment, population issues, international armaments, racism, employment opportunities...

Is the United Nations sufficient to carry out these tasks? If so then how, if not, what changes are needed? Where did they learn whatever it is they believe they already know? i.e. school, parents, travel, TV, movies... How would they create a world where VirtuLib.gif (902 bytes)everyone felt safe? Why is it important to think globally, and act locally?  For a very detailed oriented source of information, check the Virtual Library: International Affairs Resources. A high quality research source, with over 2000 carefully selected, annotated links in 37 international affairs categories.

The curriculum ideas and discussion subjects found in the logogtn.gif (12888 bytes) NPCA's Global TeachNet are already listed under links, but they are particularly helpful here, and teachers would do well to visit them.

Please e-mail us of sites that you know that will improve upon our posting... or of links that have ceased to function.
